For the 2020-2021 the Federal Government has made school lunches free for all students.  This does not include orders for milk only. 

Students have the opportunity to pre-pay for milk they purchase from our cafeterias.

Parents can send a check (payable to "Portsmouth School Department") or cash in an enveloped marked "Cafeteria."  If you pay by check, please write your child name's on the memo line of the check.

You can view your child's account and make payments online at mySchoolBucks.

Negative balance letters will be emailed to parents if necessary.

If checks are returned to Chartwell's from the bank with insufficient funds, there will be a $25.00 fee charged to your child's account.  After one returned check a note will go on your child's account that "No checks will be Accepted."

Free and Reduced Meal Applications

Children from households that meet Federal income guidelines are eligible for free or reduced price breakfast and lunch meals.  Families may apply to participate in the program at any time during the school year.  A "Family Application" is used.  This means that only one application per family is required.  To apply for free or reduced meals, complete and sign the Free & Reduced application and return it to the school principal.  Chartwells does not see, approve or deny the application for free or reduced meals.  We execute the process once completed by providing you and your child with free or reduced meals.
